Our Citroën HY
1972 — signature piece of the Estate
1972. That year, this HY was driving the roads of Normandy. Fifty years later, carefully restored, it pours champagne in the Cour d'Honneur — cocktail bar for your weddings, coffee truck for your seminars, photobooth, DJ booth, or a backdrop for your finest photos.
A piece that never leaves the Estate — it is part of it.

“Charm, refinement and all of it within an elegant restraint. A bucolic place where time stands still.”
What if you got married midweek?
A quarter of the weddings celebrated at the Estate take place during the week. Reduced rates (−25% on the overall budget), vendors more available and focused on you, the venue accessible 6–9 months out instead of 18, and an extended weekend format that turns the day into a real stay with your guests.
Everything about the Estate.
- The Estate is located at Les Housses, on the RD 613, in Sainte-Croix-Grand-Tonne (Thue et Mue, 14740), Calvados. Direct access via the N13 motorway: only 1 km from junction 35. The Estate is 10 minutes from Caen station, 10 minutes from Bayeux station, 7 minutes from Caen-Carpiquet airport and 20 minutes from the Ouistreham ferry terminal. 2h15 from Paris.
- The Estate adapts to every scale: from an intimate wedding of 50 guests to a grand celebration of up to 300 seated for dinner, and up to 500 standing for cocktails. For professional gatherings, from 2 people for coworking or hiring a meeting room.
- 82 beds are available on site, spread across suites, lodgings and a chic dormitory restored within the former post-house stables and inn. Beds are made, bath linen and welcome products provided.
- Yes — this is our signature format for weddings: full estate exclusivity is always included. The entire site, gardens and accommodation are reserved exclusively for you. For corporate events (seminars, conferences), full privatisation is also possible.
- Yes, the Estate is open all year, winter and summer, weekdays and weekends, hosting weddings and private events as well as seminars and corporate events. Thanks to a careful renovation and a latest-generation heat-pump system, comfort remains optimal in every season — even in the coldest winter.
- Weddings, birthdays, family reunions, christenings, corporate seminars, conferences, company evenings, team-building days, workshops and offices by the hour or day — all our spaces adapt to your chosen format.
- Yes, very easily. The Portsmouth-Ouistreham ferry arrives only 20 minutes' drive from the Estate — the simplest option for guests coming from the UK, who can board their car the night before and arrive directly on site. Caen-Carpiquet airport is just 7 minutes away.
- Yes, our 1972 Citroën HY — carefully restored and inseparable from the Estate. It serves as a champagne bar, coffee truck, photobooth or DJ booth, for weddings and corporate events alike. A signature piece that never leaves the Estate. Price on request.
- Yes, the Estate has a dedicated children's room where they can play freely while the adults enjoy the evening — close to the reception hall, in a safe setting. Practical for long receptions and much appreciated by parents.
- Yes. The 4-metre period cast-iron fountain at the centre of the Cour d'Honneur rests on a deliberately very shallow basin — only 10 cm of water. Children can play nearby safely, and parents can enjoy the cocktail with peace of mind.
- Yes, a dedicated caterer's pantry is provided for final plating, dressing and service. It has its own separate access for added discretion. A logistical comfort appreciated by kitchen teams, and impeccable timing for your guests.
- Yes, a 145 m² covered porch complements the outdoor spaces — ideal as a plan B for cocktails or the civil ceremony in uncertain weather, without giving up the open-air feel. In heavy rain, the Louis XVI and Marie-Antoinette halls take over.
- Neither. No vendors are imposed: you remain free to bring your own caterers, florists, photographers, DJs and wedding planners — or to choose from our trusted address book of partners who regularly work at the Estate. And no corkage fee is charged on the drinks you bring. Our role is to make your event easier, not to constrain it.
A responsible approach.
To welcome guests is also to take care of what surrounds us. At the Domaine de la Cour des Lys, we live this responsibility quietly, in our everyday choices.
Heritage restored, not rebuilt
The former 18th-century coaching inn has been rehabilitated with respect for its architecture, rather than replaced with a new build.
On-site accommodation
With 82 beds at the heart of the Estate, your guests have only one journey to make — fewer cars, fewer shuttles, less footprint.
Norman partners
Our address book favours regional professionals — florists, caterers, craftspeople who source locally and limit transport.
Biodiversity preserved
Park maintained without pesticides, late-mowing zones to let the flora rise, selective waste sorting. The old trees stay, and the flowers grow where they choose.
Controlled energy
The large reception halls are heated by hydronic underfloor heating powered by a heat pump — winter and summer comfort, with significantly reduced energy consumption.
